Now, I want to boot into OS 10.6 to run my benchmark. The over clock will hold on a restart, but a shut down will revert it back to its stock speed. So I'm in 10.6 now. Right off the bat, we can see that the noise level of this machine is a lot higher than mine at 50 decibels. The CPU temperature is actually identical at 47 degrees celsius. Keep in mind that this machine is running at its stock speed and not over clocked. And the Cinebench score is just a tad faster at 7.46. So in the end, the liquid cooling and over clocking allows my system to run at nearly the same speed as the more expensive Mac Pro. At the same time, it does it with half the noise. Now that's thermal management done right.

Mac Overclock Software
I orignally planned to overclock to 933mhz (one jump). My reasons:
> the 7450 cpu already runs quite warm - one jump is probably enough.
(Although a different cooling fan could fix this.)
> the L3 cache SDRAM is rated for 250mhz.
867mhz = L3 217mhz.
933mhz = L3 233mhz
1ghz = L3 250mhz.
From what I've read it seems that in many cases the L3 cache became disabled when this processor was overclocked to 1ghz. That is why I was only planning to go to 933mhz. But if 1ghz is possible I would certainly like to try. Can I downclock the L3 cache?
Does anybody have any information or experience with this?
